In a commendable demonstration of corporate social responsibility, the Aircraft Engineers Guild of SriLankan Airlines has successfully implemented a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system at Samanalathenna Primary School.
Located in the Dehiattakandiya region, this initiative underscores the guild's commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of rural communities through sustainable solutions. In collaboration with Hydropoint Technologies, the project involved the construction of a comprehensive water system, ensuring the provision of safe drinking water at a total cost of approximately LKR 500,000.
A Reverse Osmosis (RO) system is a sophisticated water purification process that removes impurities using a semi-permeable membrane. By applying pressure to force water through these membranes, the system effectively blocks contaminants such as salts, bacteria, viruses, and chemicals, allowing only clean water molecules to pass through.
